Hadil Louz, a 32-year-old Palestinian refugee, is taking legal action against the Home Office after her application for family reunification was denied. Living in Broughty Ferry with her husband Ibrahim and their eight-month-old daughter Laila, Louz has been fighting for her parents and siblings to join her since she submitted her application earlier this year.

The Home Office’s rejection cited a lack of “circumstances which are so compelling as to make them exceptional.” Despite this setback, Louz remains determined and is appealing the decision in the Scottish courts.

In light of her situation, advocates are pushing for a dedicated family reunification scheme for Palestinians, drawing parallels to programs that have helped those escaping crises in Afghanistan and Ukraine. What challenges have you encountered while navigating this process, and what key message do you wish to express through your appeal?
