On October 15, President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory letter to the 2024 Annual Awards Dinner of the U.S.-China Relations National Committee.
In his message, Xi expressed appreciation for the committee’s relentless efforts to promote exchanges and cooperation between the U.S. and China and congratulated William Ford on receiving an award.
Xi emphasized that U.S.-China relations are among the most critical bilateral relationships in the world, impacting the well-being of both nations’ people and the future of humanity. He reiterated that China always approaches its relationship with the U.S. based on mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and win-win cooperation. He believes that the success of each nation presents opportunities for the other, and the two countries should act as partners rather than obstacles in each other’s development. China is committed to being a friend and collaborator with the U.S., benefiting not just the two nations but the world at large.
He highlighted the successful convening of the 20th Central Committee’s Third Plenary Session of the Communist Party of China this July, which laid out a systematic plan for further deepening reforms and advancing Chinese-style modernization. Open policies are a distinctive feature of this modernization, and China is determined to continue expanding its doors to the world. Xi noted that China would intensify its commitment to creating a world-class business environment and leverage its vast market potential to bring more opportunities for U.S.-China cooperation. He encouraged the U.S.-China Relations National Committee and other friends to remain concerned and supportive of the relationship, actively participate in China’s modernization efforts, and reap the benefits by fostering more exchanges and deepening mutually beneficial cooperation. Together, they can turn the “San Francisco Vision” into a reality, bringing greater welfare to both peoples and more stability and positive energy to the world.
On the same day, President Biden also sent a congratulatory letter to the U.S.-China Relations National Committee’s Annual Awards Dinner.
